Exceptional materials

Tough under all conditions, AR-GLASS® and FIOLAX® are the ideal materials for superior packaging thanks to their excellent barrier qualities. Impressive chemical and temperature resistance also preserve the effectiveness of sensitive products, emulsions and solutions.

A range of printing options

SCHOTT offers screen printing of different sizes and colors with precious or standard enamels without the use of heavy metals. We also offer a wide range of finishes, such as full or partial lacquering, gradients, metalization, and iridescence (plasma coating).

Outstanding processability

SCHOTT delivers vials with tight geometric tolerances thanks to 100 % camera inspection along the process line. Cosmetic defect detection during tube drawing and an avoidance of glass-to-glass contact during container formation also results in low levels of cosmetic defects.

A safe package

Our standard packaging is a cardboard box with a lid, but we also offer polypropylene boxes upon request.

Dimensions and Cosmetics

We offer a wide range of vials from 1 ml to 10 ml as standard, with different necks for assembly with pump, cap or crimping. 

Recognized for their excellent machinability, our vials have their geometry certified regularly by our laboratory during manufacture.

Quality control

Functional controls:

  • Most critical dimensional parameters are 100 % controlled during manufacturing.
  • Detection of cracks and significant lack of glass.

Print text control:

  • Printing is 100% line-controlled by a camera. : character or part of the text absent, line of text absent, task on the text

Statistical quality controls:

  • Statistical sampling of all critical parameters based on AQL agreed with customers.
  • Axial strength tests (RCV) are performed during production.
  • SPC software-integrated batch control and release.
  • Connected and traced control equipment.

Quality outsourcing

  • We carry out a control of contract specifications during the production process and provide a release certificate for each batch.

Material / Glass type

SCHOTT vials are produced using a choice of glass materials, each with their own individual properties for specific applications.

These materials include:

AR-GLAS® – soda-lime glass type III

FIOLAX® clear and FIOLAX® amber – Borosilicate glass type I
